Spirit presence

Hello there. I need an advice. I am new to Wicca and stuff, well, kind of new. Been into it for like, half a year now. What I wanted to ask was, I feel presence of some spirit, a bad one as far as I can see. I've never actually seen it, but I feel like something is there. Only in the bathroom tho. It's really creepy. I felt it touch me on the shoulder once aswell. Any advice would be helpful but please keep in mind that I am new and a detailed guide, or something, would be really helpful. Thank you, everyone.

Ok, so you might want to try your hand at banishing.

Banishing spirits can be simple or complex. I always use pine, since sage is so hard to find where I'm from, but pine is abundant. Have you ever smudged?

If you don't want to (or can't) smudge, try a bell. Walk around ringing it, telling the spirit to get out. I've never done this, but a friend of mine has. (I usually just use pine XD)

You can also use your mind, envision the spirit being removed from your house. Then imagine a shield around the house. This takes some time and can really be tiring if you're new to projecting your thoughts.

I hope he leaves soon

I'd suggest you find out what exactly the spirit is and why it is there and to do that it would be best to do research into the history of the property then decide what to do

Thank you all for the answers.

I'm not sure if they have harmful intentions but it's making me feel REALLY uncomfortable.

I've never tried banishing or cleansing considering that I'm new to Wicca and spells in general. Can banishing spells lead to any consequences? Can I do them all by myself? I don't have any other wiccan friends out here.

I have never tried to smudge it or do anything similar, or used the bell. Can that work? Is it worth a shot? I may try using my mind but I don't think I have enough energy to do it, or power. I really do hope so too because it's making me really uncomfortable.

I'd love to find out what it is and why is it here, but I don't know how. I'm new to this stuff. Maybe it's not even harmful but it's really creeping me out and making me feel uncomfortable. I know everything about this place. I live in my own penthouse, by myself. I've tried researching stuff about it and all I could find is that nobody has ever lived in this penthouse before so yeah. Any other ideas, or advice?

Please detailed, I'm new so I really need someone to explain me stuff. Thank you in advance.

Well, it's hard to describe but I feel like something is going around me and watching me. Also, as I said already, I felt something touch my shoulder the other day. It's creeping me out.

If you are feeling creeped out, then trust your intuition, never doubt it.
I would suggest a good smudging with Sage or Palo Santo. You will need, a fireproof bowl, (either an ashtray or an abalone shell) lighter, feather to fan the smoke, and some smudge prayers.
Start at the front door, Light the sage and fan the smoke over yourself to cleanse yourself. Work your way around the house in a clockwise fashion, smudge around the windows and doorways, in all the corners, closets etc. if you come to the basement door, go down there and smudge , still going clockwise, until you come up the stairs again. Same goes for upstairs, go clockwise, smudging all windows and doors and closets. Keep going until you reach the front door again. You can open the windows to let out the smoke, it will be strong.
There are lots of Smudge chants, you can do your own research on the internet, find chants that you like. To start you off, here are two that I particularly like.

Home Protection spell
Bless this house, May peace dwell within.
Protect all that enter. Whether friend or kin.
Bless every door, window, ceiling and wall.
Bless each room, closet, basement, Bless it all.
Bless the roof and ground surrounding with your protective love and light.
Hold us in your loving care, every second of every day and night.
As above and so below.
So mote it be.
The second chant is a little stronger, say it with conviction.

Negativity that invades my sacred space.
I banish you away with the light of my grace.
You have no hold or power here,
For I stand and face you with no fear.
Begone forever, for this I will say.
This is my sacred place and you will obey!

It may help you to have another person help' one to smudge, one to read the chants and hold the lighter, sage tends to go out. Printing out the chants onto cards also helps keep you organised. Record your experiences in your Book of Shadows.
Wishing you well.

As I said, I live in a penthouse so I should just go to the bathroom and do it, or all around the house? I do not have a book of shadows. I'm new to this stuff. How do I make one? What should I do?
And thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it.

it would likely be best for you to do the whole suite. Go through the place one room at a time, starting where the activity is the strongest (in the bathroom by the sound of things) and going systematically around your home and finishing in the bathroom again

As for your book of shadows, it is basically a personal journal dedicated to magical topics. So it can be whatever you want it to be. you could store-buy a diary, or use some loose-leaf in a binder or duo-tang, right up to some who go all out and make/bind their own paper. it is up to you and how much work you want to put into making the book yours. usually I favor some sort of binder because I can tab off different subjects (herbs, memories, realizations, etc) and stuff can be added to the pages scrap-book style quite easily. Plus it is easy to expand by just adding more pages where they are needed.
