Weird Occurence - help?
By:
Greetings, everyone! I'm new here so I wanted to start by saying hello. I should say I'm new here - but not new to the craft or to casting, by any means.

So I had a weird occurrence and I thought I'd run it by some of you to see if you have any thoughts of what it might mean. I feel like I am too close to this to trust that my intuition would be unbiased, though I don't have any negative feelings about it so that's a good sign, I suppose. Anyway...

During the full moon this past weekend I did a sweet jar spell. The spell was part of an attempt to help persuade someone I love (and who supposedly loves me) to stop being salty and reach out to me. Anyway, one of the ingredients I put in the honey jar was jasmine (in bud form). I had a small ziplock bag of it in my bedroom and after I was done working, I cleaned up all my supplies and everything like I normally do. I cleaned up the jasmine and other ingredients I was using back into their baggies and I tucked them all away in a drawer. The jasmine never left my bedroom. A couple of hours later, I had taken the puppy out for a piddle and came back inside to my drink (which was in the kitchen) and when I took a sip, a jasmine bud ended up in my mouth. Now I offer this disclaimer: While I am a believer in magic and energy work, I also have a very scientific/logical brain, so my first inclination was to try to explain it away. One can only presume that it was in the drink, but not only did I not see it in there (which I'd like to think that I'd notice something floating in my clear drink but who knows) before I took a drink but also - there is no earthly way that I could have "accidentally" dropped that in there. So even if it was in there, I don't know how it got in there and winded up in my mouth.

So if anyone could please offer a bit of insight or has had a similar experience, I'd love to hear it. Any thoughts on the symbolism of this? Could it be a good/bad sign of some sort? Anyone have any ideas of what it might mean? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Jasmine is a very odd choice for this kind of spell. Jasmine represents emotions of kindness, respect or appreciation and some cultures even regard it as a symbol of purity.

While it is beyond me to tell someone what they should or shouldn't practice, using spell work to dodge or remove emotional or relationship issues is not the route I would take. A healthy relationship needs communication, honesty and perseverance with each other. A spell of this level, would only take care of some of the symptoms, not the problem itself.

I however find your distinct issue, to be a hilarious confirmation of this. This could easily be a sign that you need to swallow your pride or emotions about this spell and work it out like people should. It could also symbolize that in doing this thing, you are attempting to devour what made your relationship pure in the first place or that you are merely eating affection, not giving it's proper respect.

That is how I interpret this sign anyway. As for how it got there, I blame the Fae. This seems up their alley on their sometimes mischievous tendencies.

I don't know why you'd say that jasmine is odd for this type of spell. It's used in love and attraction spells quite regularly as well as to put you in someone's thoughts and this was meant in a sense, as a way to attract him back and get him thinking positively about me again.

As for the rest, I appreciate your advice and agree with your thoughts however I don't think they apply in my situation. For one, this wasn't meant as a LOVE spell. I wasn't trying to "dodge or remove relationship issues" or take care of the symptoms and not the problems. I can't exactly work on the problems if we're not currently in communication. Sure, I suppose I could text him or drop by but I wanted him to have me in his thoughts in a positive light and remember what made us fall in love in the first place. So thanks for those assumptions, but they are inaccurate and not even indicated in what I wrote.

Logically, a bud could have stuck to you or your clothes, then dropped into the drink. I have had things like that happen to me. It is just something you didn't notice. My belief and opinion because it happens to me.

Most likely a bud got stuck to your top and fell in your drink later. Have had similar happen under different circumstances.

If anything I would take it as a hint to communicate your feelings, whether up front or energetically. The mouth is all about nourishment and communication. This spell may help, but it needs you to also put forth foot work ;)

"As a way to attract him back and get him thinking positively about me again."

"Sure, I suppose I could text him or drop by but I wanted him to have me in his thoughts in a positive light and remember what made us fall in love in the first place."

I ask that you try not to take offense to my over analysis, but what I'm hearing is a distinct lack of communication. Positive thinking and entrance of thought comes from interaction and socialization with a person. The spell may start up some juices, but you also need to work at it.

This is also particularly why I used the terms I did. Magic really isn't meant to make things easier or to provide an out, magic more or less helps the foundation to occur, but at the end of the day, the relationship depends on you and him being up front, communicating and working things out in a positive manner.

And I do not mean to say that the relationship is doomed, but needed to rely on magic to get things working again, can be a sign that things aren't going well and if it's not meant to work, no amount of magic will help. But that is the issues between you and him that need to be worked out.
