Sorcerer's Apprentice ?
By:

I was told by a few people, that some witches/warlocks who have been practicing for decades have apprentices. These few people told me that these apprentices of the main witch/warlock sometimes do the negative bidding of the main witch/warlock so the universe/karma cannot punish there teacher. Has anyone else heard of this ?

I find that highly unlikely. What other things have these people told you?

Yes and and the same time a huge resounding no. Some witches do take on students to teach them the craft, but they do not use the student/apprentices to do things they don't want to do or as a roundabout way to do harm. I would like to believe someone wise enough to teach would also be wise enough to understand how karma works. You may not have stabbed the man, but you handed the murderer the knife and told them to kill, therefore karmically you are partially to blame.

I have taught many students over the years. And one of the very first lessons I teach them is to be ethical in all of their dealings with others, and to try to live in harmony with all.

The idea that the purpose of an apprentice or student of a magic user is to do the harmful things that the magic user does not wish to suffer karmic backlash for is something out of fantasy novels, not the real world.

I never taught anybody, other than my children, because I never had the time. But since I joined this site ten years ago, I am appalled at the lack of knowledge about withes and witchcraft.
So many people declaring, "I am a witch, I worship Isis". As though belief and worship of a Deity has anything to do with being a witch! A witch is somebody who practices witchcraft. The idea that a witch must also believe in "spirits", Gods, or demons,is ridiculous.
A devout Catholic may be a Plumber; but his belief in Jesus will not help him to repair a burst water pipe! Although his beliefs may prevent him from wanting to cheat his customers.

Ideas such as using a student to do one's dirty work are ways to manipulate using fear. I grew up around such claims, often accompanied by projection of the very same use of fear onto the accused.

It's the same way blatant lies have been used to create fear and loathing against different ethnic or religious groups through the centuries: "Don't trust the (group name). They breed to create children they use for sacrifices to their false gods!"

"Don't learn witchcraft. They'll lure you into doing work with demons so you go to hell in stead of them."

see how that works?

Using fear to control is not a good idea. One might not be controllable.
