Length of Reading

Hey everyone! I'm curious to see what other diviners do, so I'll start by asking this:

How long do your readings usually take? You can answer with any form of divination.

I find that with my pendulum it takes a few seconds to a minute or two for a good answer, and my tarot decks usually give me answers that I can interpret in a few minutes. But then again, I stick to some smaller spreads. What about everyone else?

There are alot of factors. I have had readings that have worked out for me and been done in seconds, to ones that have taken me days to interpret and come together

It vary's with the average celtic cross layout of the tarot cards on who's cards i am reading! It depends on the problems that are going on in my life or there's. But roughly 20 mins to 30 mins to get through telling them and 5 to 10 mins to read my own! Truthfully i never have thought of it but, i think it take longer with reading peoples because they either have a hard time dealing with what the cards say or because they are spooked that they are startling acurate. But most of the people are people who have never had there cards read or are regulars!

I know what you mean, tommylee. One time I was giving a relationship reading and when my Querent flipped over the first card, she immediately covered her mouth and was so surprised at the accuracy of the card. Needless to say, it was a rather in depth reading!

I like to use Lenormand cards. The decks have fewer cards than tarot (36 I think?) but they're read by laying them all out and interpreting the cards based on their relative positions. You can do 3-card spreads or smaller readings, but you can get so many layers out of a reading that it's really draining for me to do the full spread. I could spend at least a half hour on a full reading.

I-ching and Geomancy can be time-consuming too because there's more of a process to the readings. Tarot depends on the spread/question, and scrying depends on how deeply I go into the meditation.

I've never actually timed it, but it depends on the spread and how much detail I go into. Depending on the question I use a simple 5 card spread [does my crush like me] to a 13 card spread [what's in my future/nothing specific] when I did readings online, I would give less detail, the basic meaning of each card and a summary with my interpretation of the cards. When it's in person I'll give more details, circle back to cards, repeat myself, and summarize at the end. Average I'd say is 30 minutes I guess.
