It's better than claiming one is wise at the age of fourteen.
I work with animal spirits, but I don't work with "spirit animals" and my Fylgja (Norse fetch/follower spirit) isn't an animal. In fact, she takes the form of a mirrored version of myself.
The animals I work with are mainly birds, but I've also worked with cats, dogs, wasps, spiders, and some others.

One of my coven siblings had a dragonfly as a spirit animal. Some of the others had a cow, a dog, a deer, a badger, etc. My personal spirit animal is a grey whale.
I do not have a spirit animal in the common way [New Age] . I work with entity energies of what people call Spirits. The Butterfly in my practice can have different meanings.
Those who are young who are followed by the Butterfly spirit that helps the young remain happy or remind them to be happy. The Butterfly is the spirit of change. The spirit allows us to see when something changes. We change to. We are not the same person as we were yesterday. Something changed. People with the butterfly spirit that follows them often brings joy to others. However I have come across people who suffer Depression with the Butterfly unwilling to flow into change. Sometimes when you still in that cocoon you think of your life as a Caterpillar and it may not of been a good life. And you stay in that cocoon till you realize you will change for the better. The butterfly is there to urge a slow change. Remind of us a day is only a paragraph in our life. There are so many more pages to fill.
Learn about the Butterfly see what they go through and see how you can use this knowledge to move on and become more connected to your Butterfly spirit.
