Not necessarily, depending on what he means. Do they form long term vessels, so they can live on Earth allowing said vessel to have infinite or even 'supernatural' power. Can on be a vessel for spirits during a ritual, ceremony, etc.? Yes.

Are you referring to consensual posession?

I saw this somewhere. Somebody posted it, I don't remember where. Gods walk the earth in the forms of humans. They however are mortal hosts. Kind of like possession. I don't know if this is true as merging the divine form of a god and a human would disenigrate the human or blow the humans mental energy up. Or destroy the soul of the human. I don't see how they can have a vessel.

It's believed that some don't require human hosts at all, for some can just take human form by shape shifting themselves or via the use of Glamour which obscures a mortals view on them making us see them as a normal human sort of like a mask for their body and apperence, of course they would have to be cautious to not expose their true nature to anyone for doing so would compromise the Glamour effect.

Just one problem Malik, gods are spirits not physical apparitions. So they would need to posses a human to be physical and walk the world.
