Emotions?
By:
I have heard of empaths and I believe that I may be one to some extent, as I can sense other's emotions, but I'm beginning to think that it is only to aid another talent which is sort of the opposite. I think I may be able to influence the emotions of others, even when I show no outward sign of what I'm feeling. For example, if I feel really, really embarrassed in class, my classmates start to get fidgety and uncomfortable. It has to be a strong emotion, but I'm pretty sure it's actually happening. Any thoughts, and is there a name for this? I was thinking 'emote'.

It could be a "gift" as many call them, or it could just be intuition. Call it what you like. Most likely your classmates are picking up on your emotions and responding accordingly. Perhaps you are projecting your emotions strongly onto others. No one can really tell you online since they are not there to experience it so go with what your gut tells you. If you feel it is a gift then by all means consider it one ;)

Thank you! Very helpful. I think it is what you said, that I project my emotions strongly onto others. But I will see how it goes. :)

We are all empaths to some extent. With the exception of psychopaths, all humans can pick up on each others' emotions. I can't tell you over the Internet whether it is anything "special" or not.
