Percieving Gods

How do other people percieve the norse gods when encountering them in spellwork? I asked for Freyja's help in a spell and expected someone who gave off the feelings she represented: Love, Passion, perhaps even hatred, anger, and fear in her capacity as a war goddess. Instead I just got the sensation of "Other". Is that normal? Are the other gods the same?

Perhaps that is because she is as independent and complex as you are, and does not simply reflect feelings that we expect. She is a goddess, and she governs many things.

Thor is pictured as a hot headed drunk by some people, to me he is a wise mentor and hard worker. What you feel is the nature of the divinity as they choose to be, and you have no power over that.

Don't judge a book by its cover ;)

I agree with , CleverName.

The gods/goddesses appear to each of us, differently.

In my opinion, how you honor your chosen deity, reflects how they respond to you.
