Protection in diff. land?

So I'm really curious about one thing. Could Western magic be used in the east to ward off malevolent beings (For example, Aswang?) or
would the magic be weakened, maybe not work at all?

If you're trying to ward something off then it should work equally as well, unless you think it won't. It's all in the intention, as long as you're doubt free, then you're fine. :)

Magic is nothing more than the manipulation of energy with the mind and the will. So it is not limited by where you are on the surface of the globe unless you believe it is. Western and Eastern magical systems are simply different ways of manipulating the same energies. As long as you know what you're doing, where you are on the planet makes no difference at all.
