Casting a circle

Hi all, I'm new here and also new at magic. How do you cast a spell and what is the meaning of it?

You do not have to cast a circle, but it certainly helps. I do not use one all of the time, only for more serious workings.

To cast a spell you dont necessarily need to cast a circle I never do I sit in front of my altar and line my items up

It's personal preference. If you want to there are several different ways, and in time, you may even develop your own method.

Casting a circle is needed, for protection from spirits. There is a lot of information in print sources, like books that tell you about casting a circle. But since, I work with demonic spirits, I have no need for casting a circle.

Well yeah, if you cast a circle for protection then its needed but andra didn't say what she was using it for.. Mayne you could be more specific?
