Amber/corpal

I need some help on whether or not some resin I got from a tree last summer and hs jardened has the same powers as amber; resin tht has decayed over thousands of years. Dos anyone know?

No, obviously the resin you have is 'new' the power in it is from a single tree. The 'amber' has hardened as you said over 'thousands' of years and has both the power of whatever tree it came from BUT it also has the power of the earth in which it lay dormant until it came out so it has slightly more then the new resin.

Uh and 'copal' is different as well as that is generated now as well. There are 'some' copals that are 'old' but they are expensive..

So what powers would corpal have?
