Wisdom or Power

i was just thinking, and i've got a question, i practice dragon magic and the two things i can gain from the dragons is wisdom and power. i started studying dragon magic for the chance to gain the wisdom of the dragons. since studying magic in general will gain you great knowledge regardless of your path, it can also bring about power magically. my question is, did you start down your path in the hopes of wisdom or power?

I first started magic in hopes of power, but was quickly discouraged and set straight. I came to the conclusion that any true power over anything but yourself is illusory. So i sought power over myself which led me to the kabbalah and ritual magic. From there i absolutely annihilated any ego i ever had and went about my path. So yes, i started magic in hope of some sort quest for spooky magic power, but I found something far, far better.

I was raised around magic, taught it is all around us and with us every day. So my answer would be no. In my eyes, "Power" is just something that people use as a name for status (title) or being rich. That put aside, everyone has the ability to be great in magic and any aspect of life if they choose to take the steps needed. I personally have seen someone, with no use of there arms or legs, become a magnificent artist, wonderful father and capable witch :)

Wisdom although I had to fight my temptations because at the time I was also power hungry. Through wisdom you learn that power is so very limited. you never truly obtain power but the illusion of it.

I started on my path for power, but I believe the old saying knowledge is power. No matter the path you'll learn and gain knowledge. Now I seek power still but I seek to gain it by knowing myself and the power that lies within me already.

Any power worth possessing requires wisdom to obtain and hold.

For my part, I largely sought wisdom and understanding.

I to shall study dragon magick and dragon beings(spirits)soon.Right now i'm following my path as a protector in all religious ways.I make protection spells and cast them too!
I do not believe wisdom comes from the mind itself,I see wisdom from the heart.I do have a saying:"When you follow your heart, your mind shall know whats right."

I use magic as a means to an end, a tool to get things done.

Energy work and healing i do to actually dissolve power, to let it go; the ego being the biggest hinderance to peace and contentment, in my opinion.

For a practice in wisdom, i simply observe Nature.
