You must tap into your spiritual side to gain any sort of spiritual sense or ability. This can be done through any faith or practice. The most common and simplest way is by meditating and connecting to nature. Belief is important.

Practicing any form of divination and becoming skilled in it is a great way to heighten you intuition. Although I am not opposed to tarot, I feel it gives too much information through the card meanings and doesn't give the diviner as much freedom to use his or her intuition. I suggest runes or scrying for those who want to exercise their intuition.

Do not be swayed by ritual and spells claiming to give you visions! Many of them contain drugs (hallucinogenic poisonous herbs) that will only make you high and not benefit you at all, in fact, quite the opposite, some can kill you.

I do cleanse, chant, and draw a circle before scrying or divining but that just facilitates my mood and mind frame so that I can focus better and be open to the possibilities that follow and cancels out any negative influencements from my own mind or spiritual factors.

Bleh...typos. My keyboard seems to be omitting R's when it feels like it. And a few other letters here and there. Technology hates me, and the feeling is mutual. =)

I know that you are young (12) and you probably have absolutely no past history with magick. So I'm going to gather all the patience I can muster, and put this as simply as possible.

Connecting to nature is seeing it with awe, wonderment and as a learning tool. Become aware of the powerful force that it is and the amazing things it can do. Connecting to nature is connecting to the elements, physically and spiritually. The elements are air, water, fire and earth. Sit in the grass (earth) close your eyes, feel and breathe in the air, feel the warmth of the sun (fire), or go outside when its lightly raining and let these moments into your heart. Take these moments in and treasure them! For they are truly the magick that is life!

Imagine, every fruit and vegetable you eat has been nourished by the earth (soil), fed by the sun and rain, and it is these plants that not only feed you but produce the oxygen you breathe! They take in the carbon and produce oxygen! Is this not wonderfully amazing? This is connecting to nature. Understanding the powers that quietly brew as so many speed through life unaware of its influence! And be thankful for them! Be in awe with them.

Spiritual senses/gifts are a natural part of every single soul. There isn't one person who cannot become aware of them. They are there, just unobserved.

Think of it this way, put a cut orange in a room and everyone will smell the orange. Give them an hour and their sense of smell stops sending this message to your brain, because it is no longer necessary. But the smell is still there. Walk out of the room and come back and you'll smell the orange again.

This is the same for our spiritual gifts. Every single child is born with these senses but depending on the way they are raised, and their observations of others around them, these senses are deemed unimportant and no longer register in our minds. But stepping into a spiritual lifestyle is like walking back into the room with the orange, we open ourselves back up to the ability to reclaim that sense in our minds. And THEN we can choose to accept it fully and redevelop it, then refine it.

I do hope this makes sense, but while I'm at my maximum capacity of patience, please feel free to continue asking questions. I really recommend that in your education, you incorporate philosophy into your curriculum, or just pick up a good book. I recommend Plato and the Platypus (which is a readers digest approved book) that is an excellent foundation for anyone's first approach on grasping philosophy. It is written in an easily understood, humorous style that doesn't bore you. I enjoyed the book thoroughly and plan to hold onto it for my daughter when she is old enough to comprehend it.

Visions are a gift given by the higher power [s] whom ever you believe to be and not some silly little game about seeing into the future
