Cleansing of energy

Okay, so I got two pouches of gemstones in the mail today. Love them, well no, I'm not because I can't even have them out because of the energy they are releasing. Gosh, I get really sick to my stomach the second I have them out.

Can I cleanse them through the pouches or is it the best to just have to ''have them out in the free'' and cleanse them?

Would you use smudge sticks or would you use something more for really strong energies?

I would do it one at a time, but you could wave the bag through some sage or cleansing smoke first then individually cleanse/bless/charge each stone and the bag.
