Sometimes when I'm shuffling the deck in preparation for a reading for myself or someone else, one or more cards come loose from the deck. I believe that when cards "jump" (as I call it when they come loose from the deck), it's your higher self trying to bring something to your attention. I pay attention to "jumping" cards and read them in context with the cards I pulled. How about you? (Sorry if I confused anyone, lol)
Referring to them as "jumping" cards is a more "technical" term for tarot. Personally, I act on them in different ways. Normally I replace them and continue shuffling, but unless I just happen to have that little voice screaming at me not to do so then and only then do I include them in my readings. How I include them in a reading is one of two ways: generally read last after the initial reading to give extra insight to the reading as a whole; or read with a card that I don't quite get the meaning of. Intuition/feeling usually determines how I act upon a jumping card.

I happen to follow same ways as Vanitys_Fire .I rarely ignore those cards, in most cases I place them separately and I treat them as extra cards ,which provide further insght on the reading .
I personally read those cards first, and then do the rest of the reading. Generally, if the card jumps out at you, it has something very important to say, and should not be ignored. But that is just my personal insight
When I get a "jumper" I interpret what it means as it comes out in relation to the question. Though I don't always get them during a reading. In this case I interpret them as they are or would be alone. For example if the Hanging Man came out of its own accord while I am shuffling without a question I would interpret it to mean to mean I need a new perspective on life and spend the next day or two trying to see things a different way. I read them as they are individually. Hope this helped
This thread has a good bit of useful information. I used to just put jumping cards back into the deck and continue shuffling, but now I think I'll do what some of the comments say and use them as extra cards that are read along with the actual cards that are drawn for the reading.
