Wicca Vs. Witchcraft

I'm very confuse about the whole Witchcraft and the differences between Wicca. I'm kinda studying Wicca but I consider me a witch. I blend a few Wicca teachings and just put them to my own liking (I can do whatever I want). And a find them the same really.

Wicca is a religion created by Gerald Gardner around the 1950s. Witchcraft is a form of magic use that predates Christianity.

Many who follow Wicca call themselves Witches. Others call themselves Wiccan.

Not sure that helped you any.

As Kathadin said, Wicca is a very specific neo-Pagan religion founded by Gerald Gardner in the 1940's which happens to include the practice of witchcraft in its beliefs. Witchcraft is a form of magical practice which may or may not be associated with any particular religion.

It would be correct to say that all Wiccans are Witches, but not all Witches are Wiccan.

Oh, so basically Wicca is a religion you can follow. Where as witchcraft is a craft or something you can study and beliefs and all?

Oh okay, I've been wondering this for awhile. What about paganism or whatever, what's the difference with that?

The main difference is that one is a religion and the other is simply a magical practice.

Paganism is an umbrella term that refers to a number of different religions including Asatru, Druids, Wiccans, some Witches, Heathens, Celtic Reconstuctionists, Hellenics, and Kemetics for example.
