Quick question

I've been reading up on AP and lucid dreaming and both say that you can get stuck there forever and never awaken from either of those again so you're asleep till you die

Are either of these true or just made up?

Everything I've ever read on AP very expressly says that can't happen.

This is only study - I've never successfully AP'd myself, but since it conflicts with literally everything I've ever found on it I'd tend to assume that's just made up.

i just kinda thought that if you have to be asleep to wake up then you might never wake up because you are always awake

If you die in a dream do you still wake up?
Its in the streanght of the energy that make your death in the other realm, if its too strong, then yes you will not wake agian. But then thats like saying if I drive faster than the speed of light I can go back in time. It has not been proven in person yet it can't be ruled out. :)

Tannerr07, yes it technically can happen, though probably not the way you think. You can't ever become trapped during AP, you can only think you are. The only reason I can think of that someone wouldn't return from AP is if they were either convinced that they could not or did not want to return, essentially becoming a ghost. Both of these things are highly unlikely though, even if they are possible. The only situation I've ever heard of someone become "trapped" in such a manner resulted in the person's soul being "picked up" by the denizens of the afterlife.

That is myth, told probably in a dramatic fashion to portray something else.

Even if you fell into sleep paralysis with your face smothered in your own pillow, just before you suffocate, your body will wake itself up due to lack of oxygen.
