Chat insanity

I have been here for five months or more under different names. I love the site. The idea of having a gathering place for so many occultists to learn and grow together is wonderful. However I am losing interest in the chat as many others have. There is a profound use of name calling and bullying going on here. People cannot seem to think logically or on their own now days. I am not saying everyone does this but many do. It would be nice if this site could become what it was meant to be. We should be acting like a real community of occultists. Sharing knowledge and viewpoints, supporting others by being open to their views in a logical manner.
I know all of this has probably been stated before but I felt like sharing. Thanks for reading this :)

I truly do apologize if my handling of EtherPhoenix upset either of you, but I have seen first hand what his kind of verbal abuse can do to a child.

I felt compelled to do something, and since I have no authority, I resorted to giving it back in a polite, though annoying, manner.

This is a sad truth. I also hope that this stops, light. I feel that when one hurts someone, he/she is actually hurting one's self in the process too. I really do hope they think before saying anything.

to me if someone was bullying someone on here and i was a mod, i would gag them, there is no need for bullying anywhere. ive been told that ive been wrong here by some, and been called names, and its not fun, we are a community and we should not resort to bullying, or name calling. its not right and it doesnt get anywhere. it also puts a bad name to occultists, and witches, ext and makes the media to be right on how they personify them as.

What's more is the fact that mods use their power to bully others as well, not saying all, or even often.(or even noticed by most) No direct offense, MODS. But It would be more efficient to have bots as mods, for their feelings cannot be "poked at", and trolling/annoying would be rare at best, no matter what time of day..

There are some people that bully on the forums because they don't agree with somebody else's opinion. What they don't understand is that everyone has there own opinion. You can talk about it but, nobody has the right to force someone to tray and change it. A lot of people get really mad when certain topics come up, no offense. Whenever I tell people I know that they should join the site I always have to tell them what not to talk about because I don't want to see their feelings hurt. I wish there was some way everyone could talk civilly and without being rude, or judgmental. No offense to anyone, but there are a lot of people who are completely serious about their questions that get called fluffys. I think that's a form of bullying, does anybody else?

I don't visit chat. Mostly because I'm always here on my phone and it isn't very compatible.

But, I would like to add that smaller communities have more friendships and bonds made, more time spent inbetween those people, and overall a more home - like, family feel. I've been lucky enough to find a few of them, but because they do have fewer people, they tend to not last more than a few years.

Bigger has its advantages too. Bigger is more productive and famous.
I'm here to help people, making friends is a perk. I don't expect this place to ever feel like home, simply because of how much of an overturn we have with members coming and going.

Yeah, there are definitely many people on here who are rude, mean, judgemental, insulting and resort to name calling. And that is simply for not knowing something or for not validating the personal opinions and experiences of the person doing the insulting. In chat and the forums. Part of the time, I will not even go into chat, because of the certain people that seem to always be on there that are usually the ones committing these offenses. And, surprisingly, they never get gagged. Not to mention, I've seen people get ridiculed and called fluffies and role players and even immature on here, for believing certain things that most people on here do not. And the really sad part is that these people being called all these names are completely right about what they are saying. It's just the occult/magickal comminity (if this site is any indication) is surprisingly narrow minded. I know atleast one person who is ridiculously knowledgeable about magick and the occult and has been studying like crazy for years who would be hated on this site because he believes, practices and/or knows about so many things that many other occultists and magickal practicioners just don't understand. And sadly, have no particular desire to even try. They would just rather make fun of people and/or discount the subjects as being somehow fake or not valid.
