When used medicinally, Bloodroot is mainly used externally for skin diseases, some tumors and also warts. It is toxic when taken internally, although historically it has been used in very small doses for various complaints.

It's spiritual properties include increasing peacefulness between family members and in the home and also improving conjugal relations between partners.

It's also one of the various paired roots - roots traditionally used as couples - and specific Bloodroots can be either male or female and are used as stand-ins and botanical representations of couples. The "male" roots have a blood red center and the "female" roots have a light pinkish center.

It's a very cool root indeed.
