So Much To Learn!

Hi All,

This is just something I encountered recently, and thought it might be interesting to talk about. As a few of you might possibly know (or maybe not, since I've only been on the site for a short time) I'm pretty new to the Craft and even spirituality and religion in general. Before now, I never really challenged my own ideas on life, the universe and everything, and now that I am it feels as if I'm playing catch-up. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it feels like there's so much to learn! A student's dream, but a perfectionist's nightmare, since its so difficult to take the time to focus carefully on each thing when you know there are a million and one other things that need to be done, or are on the agenda.

I was just wondering - did anyone else have that feeling of being ever-so-slightly overwhelmed and in awe at the beginning of their path? Do you still feel that way sometimes? And how did you deal with that?

Again, it's an enjoyable challenge, but I was simply curious about others' experience with the sheer amount of knowledge and questions to be absorbed within the spiritual path.
Thanks to any and all replies made :)

Blessed Be,
-Nymree

I feel the same way. It comes with time, research, soul searching, divine signs (which aren't usually clear).

Trying to figure out the path, then...the god or gods of that path. The endless hours of researching that god to understand him/her.

It's a real mind blower to find out he had been giving me signs this whole time. Even more so it's surprising to know just how badly he is underappreciated and misrepresented as the "bad guy" in pop culture and such.

When one grows up Christian seeing a lot of the hatefulness that goes along with it, there is that part of me that thought all religion would be like this...So I tried really hard to find something I disagreed with but, could not.

Then, what types of magick you want to learn. It's easy to say everything but it's hard to narrow it down and find where to start.

It's a lot to take in but I really enjoy it. It personally rekindled a passion inside of me that was dead. Having no desire or want for anything.

Plus, I found my religion in time to incorporate it with my wedding. So that makes it even more special for me. "God comes when you need him most". Huh, right on time as always.

I feel, and have felt the same way! I don't have any experience to be able to say what to do, or what works, but what I am trying is just to find what parts really interest me, and let my intuition do the guiding, and not being afraid to ask questions, no matter how stupidly simple they may seem. But yeah, it can be VERY overwhelming still.

Hi Nymree, I sort of feel the same way because I gained an interest in Wicca and have spent some money purchasing books, but since I found out some of the information regarding Wicca some of it is questionable to me, so I don't think that it is easy to find the path that is for you but if you keep at it you will eventually find it.

Blessed be.

I felt that way at the start, but you start to get the hang of things and realize what path you're interested in. Sometimes I still feel that way. I just relate it to a path I already know about.
