I actually just hang them up somewhere, eg, where I normally hang my washing, or a sunny window area.
They're pretty easy to dry I reckon.

You might see about scrapping the white stuff out of them before hanging them. I don't know how much it would effect them for magic, but I know in cooking you don't want it because it's bitter as all get out and can mess up your dish pretty badly.

Just air-dry, I cut small strips with scissors and dry them spread out on 1-ply kitchen paper towels. Drying on non-humid/dry air days works best. If weather is rainy/damp wait for dry days.

Depending on what they are for I will do a few different things.

1 if it's for a ritual and I need it's cleansed and dry I'll cover the peels with salt in a bowl.

2 If it's for cooking I will normally put them on a pan and let them air dry no longer than a day then use them.

3 if I'm using them for decoration or in something where they must be bone dry I'll put peels in between two pieces of wax paper and get some heavy books on top of them.

While these work for me and are really great. I will say using an oven is fast and efficient. If you want it to be more natural maybe dry them over a fire or on a barbecue I'm not exactly sure if your reasons for not wanting to use the oven entirely. Happy drying!!
