black magic
Has traditionally referred to the use of super natural powers or magic for evil and selfish purposes with respect to the left hand path and right hand path dichotomy
Black magic is the malicious left hand counterpart of benevolent white magic in modern times some find that the definition of black magic has been convoluted
By people who define magic or ritualistic practices that they disapprove of as. Black magic
White magic
Magic is the most ancent of all the spiritual arts yet it is one that has an important place in the modern world it is a source of personal power and protection and above all it helpes us to connect with nature and the slower more harmonious of life. White magic is entirely positive and harms no one but seeks only to bring good things into your live and to those we love and into the world.

There is no such thing as Black Magic; or White magic. There is only magic, and it has no colour. The person using it for evil may be called "black", but not the magic. So a person using magic for good could be called "white".

It all depends on what the user intends to do with the magic. If it harms others or malicous and otherwise frowned upon intent, its "black". The magic does not change, not in the way you think it does. Its a common misconception, and the media doesn't help it

"Black" being the intent, not the magic

How many times are you going to post this? I've read three so far, with the same misinformation.

While magic itself is nothing more than a collection of subtle and nuanced attributes. Spells themselves can indeed be considered black. If you make a spell that's only purpose is harmful intent then it is black magic. Black magic can be used for the right intentions but the magic itself is harmful. Anyone who says otherwise is trying to justify a nuance that just isn't there.
