To Thank or Not to Thank

So I was going through some of my old forum posts and I found an inquiry of mine about Faelatry. The Faelatrist who responded to my inquiries mentioned something about how you shouldn't thank the fae or talk about why you can't. But other sources say that you should always thank the fae when they do things for you or visit with you. So I'm confused. Should you thank them or not? Is there a reason why you can't talk about why you shouldn't thank them if you shouldn't? Does it all just depend on the particular fae your visiting with? I don't think I've visited with any fae, I'm just really curious.

From my understanding on what little I've heard you should tell them you appreciate what they've done as well as leave an offering. Just don't say the words "Thank you".

Okay, thank you, LittleJackal. I know about offerings somewhat, I've just not done enough research on interacting with the fae I suppose :/

No problem! I can give you a couple of links to some videos I thought were interesting from people who have claimed to have worked with them if you like.

I've never had a problem saying thank you. Maybe that comes from the belief that they are fallen angels. When Christianity melded with the faery faith, it created a lot of awkward ideas so that the people could avoid being viewed as heretics. After all, they were worshipped as gods in pagan times.

Yeats thanked: "Be careful, do not seek to know too much about us." Seeing that I had offended her, I thanked her for what she had shown and told, and let her depart back into the cave. In a little while the girl awoke out of her trance, and I felt again the cold wind of the world, and began to shiver." Page 48; The Celtic Twilight.

thank you ^.^ I've tried doing other research and I've gotten things like the words "thank you" aren't in the fae vocab or that saying the words "thank you" is like taking what they do for granted or something. but it's all a little confusing lol
