Hello! I am fairly new to divination and I wanted to know, do I need to cast circle when performing divination (such as tarot cards etc.)?

I never do. However, I find it very productive to meditate before hand and honor the directions.

I cast when I'm working with spirits in personal spaces just to make sure nothing sticks around. I also like to do a quick grounding and cleansing when divining for others so I don't get their readings tangled up in my own energies.

i've never done, normally it helps if you clear your mind, meditation works. normally i shuffle the deck repeating the question until i feel the time is right. other people i know take a cleansing bath, or cleanse the area with sage smudge before a reading. in my coven, divination is normally done before our circle, but there have been times where we've done a reading near the end just because we were enjoying the energy and didn't want to open the circle.

For my personal preferance, i love to do mine in a circle. I do a circle casting weekly, and once a month. I usually find that meditation, and grounding helps me before hand.

Although anytime with or without a circle, you can do divintation. Divintation doesn't require a circle, but it may help the intuiton, and protectiveness. Some i know, cast whenever, and wherever. Other take a ritual bath, few take it in a circle. The whole thing is up to you!
