What is Succubus exactly? Or Incubus, for that matter?

a succubus (plural succubi) is a female demon or supernatural entity that appears in dreams, who takes the form of a human woman in order to seduce men, usually through sexual intercourse. The male counterpart is the incubus. Religious traditions hold that repeated intercourse with a succubus may result in the deterioration of health or even death.

Some individuals did claim to actually have relationships with succubi, one of them being pope Sylvester II. Thus, it could be that the warnings of health damage and death could have simply been the church trying to dissuade consorting with entities that they viewed as "evil."

And there is also a lot of evidence pointing to the fact that the whole idea of Incubi/Succubi was a way for the Medieval person to explain wet dreams.

That is possible, Lark. I held that position for quite some time, but with a more recent experience I'm questioning it a litte...

Another theory some have is that a succubus will have intercourse with a human male for the use of collecting sperm to give to the incubus to impregnate a human female

I don't really put much faith into that as I see no demon children running around but I just felt like sharing another theory of them I've seen around before

You can summon a succubus or a incubus if you want to

The alleged offspring of Succubi/Incubi and humans, called cambions, looked completely normal. Merlin, of Aurthurian legend, is a cambion.
