So Mote It Be

Ive seen the fraze "So mote it be" alot since i began geting into magic practices. I was wondering if anyone knew if this is just a fancey way of saying "so let it be" or if it actualy means something more? Does it have older roots in magic, or is this just a creative twist made by new age mages?

It is a ridiculous so-called old way of saying might be. It is the same with silly New Age groups saying Moot instead of meet.

I don't use it. I end my spells with "this is my will, and it will be" "this I have begun, let my will/words be done (if I am petitioning a being) or just "it is done". Many times I don't use words tho or they're spoken on the spot with no planning.

I see "so mote it be" as a Wiccan thing, which is neopagan/new age, and I disassociate myself with such modern magick styles.

For some people saying "So mote it be" does help. Its not just silly mumbojobo. Its close but it does have power behind it.
