grains of paradise= in magick are used for lust,luck,love,money,and wishes. I have not used them myself but my herbal list does have their qualitie in magickal use.Most of the time they are used in conjunction with other herbs to refine and empower the spell. Hope that helps a little.

"Alligator pepper" and "grains of paradise" are nicknames for aframomum melegueta. All I did was google grains of paradise. Although I have heard of it, I knew very little about it. The seeds are used and it is a relative of ginger. That should give you enough info to research it yourself. =)

Alligator pepper and grains of paradise are the same thing, nicknames for, as Raven said, Aframomum melegueta.

They are in fact spices, with a peppery taste. In parts of Africa, they use alligator pepper for digestion issues, and I hear they are also used for divination. I also hear it is used in Voodoo, however I am not sure what for.

Apparently it also has great healing properties, especially when it comes to dealing with bacteria.
