gypsy is a traveler, if we're going by the U.K. definition. many are catholic with a deep respect for the old religion. gypsy magic is just another form of magic, like Celtic, and is deeply rooted in tradition. that's about all i know on the subject as it's never interested me.

a gypsy is someone who travels around and lives in caravans but some do live in houses so i think they are a race
