commit to learning

Just a little rant and heads up for the new people and the fluffies. Magick, for those who are serious, is intimately linked to spirituality. BOTH are lifelong pursuits.

Magick requires you to be committed to learning and practicing. Constant reading, reviewing, working (yes, working), and doing it all over again is required.

You can NOT learn meditation in 5 minutes. You can NOT master visualization in 5 minutes. You can NOT astral project, raise energy and direct it, or invoke a god/dess by reading a forum post.

Serious practitioners take weeks, months, even years, to master their art and skills..and work hard to maintain their basics.

If you can't understand that, stick with the hollywood version of Magick, please.

I agree. Serious practice of magick requires dedication and discipline. Some people on this website say they want to do dark magick, but go 'yuck' when you mention meditation.

Well said bro. Magickal practice is also much more than just finding some spells and casting them.
And you find that when you do learn something, there is always much more to learn.
A person who feels that they know everything is a fool because they cut off themselves from further knowledge.

this is one real post i've ever seen in ages, i agree with you stonicus, personally i think that begginers and the one's who think they can master anything in a few minutes or seconds should see this post and learn, it took me three months to become aware of my own energy

thanks stonicus

I'm a begginer, but I agree entirely with the concept and plan to put time into this.

Someone (wink, wink) should pin this (nudge, nudge) at the top.

Excellent post Stonicus.

I would love to sail a boat, but I wouldn't just decide one day to get up in the morning and go to the river and throw myself into a boat and sail out to sea, to me thats what a lot of people on here are doing by not learning the basics and then casting spells to bring a spirit from hell to do their bidding (Intranquil Spirit spell).

Once people learn to meditate, learn to control energy, then they will become a different person, spell success rate will increase massively. I recommend "Energy Essentials for Witches and Spellcasters Energy Essentials for Witches and Spellcasters" by Mya Om.
