the Book of Shadows is text explaining (Wiccan and NeoPagan)religion, spells, customs, rituals, and beliefs. i myself own a copy and find it rather basic. but i would consider it good reading for a beginner. the spells are basic and easy enough to follow.

Well, if your talking the bos as just a bos and not a book titled "Book of Shadows", then it is an all purpose book, much like a journal, that holds spells, rituals, experiences, and all magickal workings you think to put in it. It can also go by the name of Grimoire.

Glim explained the most common type of Book of Shadows. It's kind of a record of a pagan's magickal workings. It's where they keep their spells, rituals, and things of that sort.

There is also the published book. I personally havn't had a chance to read it yet but it is on my list.

If your talking about a BOS as in the one you wright yourself, where you put your spells and stuff, then anything can be a BOS. A journal, a binder with looseleaf, a file on your computer could even be your BOS(just an electronic version).

If your talking about the book titled Book of Shadows, then look at your local bookstore, ebay, amazon, or other sources for books.
