THE Neconomicon was a book found by Dr.Keely, Dr.Dee's assistant when evoking angels that taught them the enochian language. It is a real book and has been published, but beware there are a few fakes out there. The stuff in the original is real.

The Necronomicon was written by H.P. Lovecraft, and he claims that it was written ages ago by the "Mad Arab, Abdul Alhazred". It is fictious, but I'm sure that books like this exist somewhere.

supposedly ,

The Widener Library at Harvard, which is supposed to have a copy of the "Necronomicon" according to Lovecraft's stories, has a catalog entry telling the seeker to "inquire at desk". While the stories surrounding the Necronomicon claim that it is an extremely powerful and dangerous book (one that would not be safe just sitting on a shelf, where anyone could read it), it is equally possible that the listing has a much more mundane purpose -- several (equally fictional) versions of the book do exist, and (since books such as the Necronomicon are frequently stolen from the shelves) the entry may simply be an attempt to prevent its theft.

Lol it's not that rare. I have an online copy of it and my boyfriend had a paperback version. I also remember seeing a kid bringing it into school in 6th grade. I'm sure the magick could work if the intent was put behind it.
