Book Of Shadows

Hi everyone, excuse the semi ignorant post, and I apologise in advance if this answer is already posted somewhere.

Do you have a BoS, and if so, what are some tips you would give to a newbie to Wicca to help them out with theirs? There doesn't seem to be a lot of information online so I'd like to know what you all think.

Thank you!

A BoS is nothing but a book full of information. Like you if you found out something cool you write it down. Most witches like it keep it organized, so some might divided it into parts. Some might write their coven name in it and the rules, the basics, the tables for herbs and crystals and so on. Usually a BoS is past down from one generation to another generation. If your creating a BoS, some witches keep it in the computer or their phones, binders or notebooks. What ever that makes you happy, but you don't need one.

There's not a lot of concrete information because it's not set in stone for a lot of people.

People do all sorts of different, more or less creative, things with theirs.

A book of shadows can be use to write down information for things like how you cast your circle and go through your own ritual set up, lists of tools, information about altar setup, spells you create, correspondences to herbs and candle colors, and just anything you can think of. Some people like to have a book blessing at the start of the book, but you don't have to if you don't want to. It's just a journal to record anything about your workings. Just start simple and what feels right to you cause their is no right or wrong way to right your very own, it's for you and you only unless you plan on passing down your book when you're older to a family member practicing and studying the craft, but you don't have to if you don't want to. You can even just make it a magickal journal to write down about anything that may cross your mind, dreams you may have that stand out to you, or maybe something you felt that day that you want to write down. You don't even have to write it down, you can have it on your computer even if you don't want to hand write. Or you can print out things you've types and add it to a binder for your book. Sorry if I sound all over the place, but I hope it gives you a few ideas for your very own and no matter what anyone says, go with your intuition on creating the book you'll be happy with. Have a great day and blessed be! c:
