Hi, I have worked with runes not long before and I think if you want the best Runic symbol of fire, it would be FA

FA is the Rune of original fire. It is a Rune that symbolizes the cosmos and the universe. It also symbolizes fire that acts creatively. It is a will that sparks manifestation down to the material levels.

FA is one of the Runes that rules the Salamanders, spirits of the fire element. It symbolizes change from within the creative levels and spiritual creation. More FA.. it also represents the Phoenix that rises from it's ashes. It is a Rune of fate, of mobility, and of wealth.

....Thank you....

I honestly don't know why everyone connects fehu with fire. One author writes it and everyone copies. Fehu means cattle and represents property and wealth. Cattle were a possession that were very valuable and what that has to do with fire, I don't know. But Kenaz means torch and I'm certain torches have a fire relation. ;)

It depends on the type of fire you are looking for. Kenaz (rune of the Norse God Kvasir) is generally considered to represent the fire that is controlled (like a campfire) or the creative spark/inspiration in all of us, and for enlightenment, illumination among other things. Sowilo (rune of the Norse Goddess Sif) is considered the sun rune, it's one of primal fire, lifeforce, personal power, etc. If you want more information on the runes and the Gods/Goddesses associated with them through their myths and legends, read the book Gods of the Runes: Divine Shapers of Fate by Frank Joseph.
