what should one do if

They get into a fight with the person they've casted a love spell on? Say the caster doesn't realize the subject is responding to the spell and is behaving like a jealchild and so the caster snaps on them? Then the subject starts acting out even more because they are now jealous AND pissed about getting yelled at.

Good suggestion. But if the fight was so bad they aren't on speaking terms? The reason I'm asking is because I read about the not so pleasant things that could happen if they put a love spell on someone who turns into a jealous nut. I personally would forget I caste a spell because I would be so upset about getting stalked. And end up fighting with the person about it not remembering it could be because of the spell

If the caster had listened to the advice of older more experienced casters they would not have cast the love spell in the first place. Our forums are full of the experienced warning against such things but of course it is often unheeded. In those cases one has to learn the hard way. I would say they have every reason to be angry at you. They may be misguided in the reasons for their anger at the moment, but they definately have cause for it. Common sense would tell you that jealousy would be a very common consequence of a love spell as would obsession in an extreme case. The reality is that actions have consequences...and not always the ones we seek. Your spell had consequences, your words and your actions do as well. The best thing for you to do would be to apologise for snapping. Be honest and tell them what you have done. Have respect for your subject if you claim to love them....show it by not doing magic to force the relationship ( i know, you just cast to improve it...that is generally the rationale). Show it by being understanding when they act immaturely and show jealousy, especially when our own actions have not been so very innocent rather than snapping at them. Love has respect and patience and consideration.

Well there are reasons why we do not craft selfish spells. This is what the mundane would call 'black magic'. Whilst all magic is colorless, we ascribe a color to magic based on its intent.

Often 'evil' magic is considered black, however if we look at the foundation of the intent, we find that more often than not 'black' magic is founded upon self serving intent, selfishness, greed, the search for power for the sake of power, which power corrupts.

Casting a love spell on another person comes with risks and consequences, I fear that this is but one of them.

I fear that this situation will not end well. I would recommend that the caster releases their victim (oh this is so much a violation of the human will that we can easily call it rape) and do a number of atonement in order to free themselves (slightly) from the coming train of consequences that selfish use of craft brings with it.

If the caster refused to relent, the victim will come to a point where that love/hate aspect will destroy something, or someone - either them self or the object of their conflicted emotions.
