Taken from the Herbology T-Y article:

VANILLA BEANS: Magickal uses include love, lust, passion, and restoring lost energy. Carried to increase energy & strengthen mental abilities.

Personally, I consider vanilla as cold in opposition to cocoa which I get a warm feel from. Interpret that as you will. Vanilla is one of my favorite scents and flavors, and I'm currently experimenting with it in a variety of potions.

I steep vanilla bean and cinnamon with thyme, damiana and anise to make a stout tea to share with my husband. The love aspects of this tea really bring us together.

This is a very old (one year old thread) Unless you have something valuable to add to old threads, please don't bring them back up.

I carry a little bit of vanilla extract in my bag with me at all times. I started doing this nearly 8 years ago. Every time a bottle of vanilla extract in my kitchen becomes too low to be useful, I switch it out with the old one in my bag.

Vanilla is extremely healing physically. Just take a quick trip to Google "Vanilla properties" and you'll see just how amazing this under appreciated bean really is. It's not just yummy!

But when taking it a step further into magick it can be applied in much the same way--both creating restful sleep and energizing. It's an energy balancer giving you the boost of whatever you need when you need it be that a better nap or concentration during an school exam. And since it is also used in aromatherapy, when you really need a boost, instead of just carrying around with you as a talisman, the smell alone can also ease nerves and sharpen your focus.
