Can't Use Candles?

I know most spells require different materials and most of them require candles. The thing is I'm not allowed to actually have candles in my room since it's a fire hazard. We have these battery fake candles which act like candles but you don't have to worry about accidentally setting you room or your dog or worse your hair on fire. ((Yes, hair being on fire is much worse than the room...I can't believe I just said that.))

I've been trying to find spells that don't require candles or open flames and being home alone. Is there another way to perform these spells that require flame? It would be nice to actually successfully pull off a spell.

Thanks,

Jinx, you can make spells of your own. You can take inspiration from spells that are written and change them so they feel right to you. You can research things and learn what works best for you. You can do magick without having any items at all!

you do not require candles many things in spells are omit-able and you can simply cast a spell with just plain concentration of thought to energy that will be used in order to do its intended purpose

Tools are not necessary, though many find them very helpful when it comes to concentrating. Remember energy work is the largest part of the spell. I grew in my practice when i was younger and had no tools I could use either and found that there was no need for them in honesty.

It is less than a hundred years since candles were begun to be used by Pagans. It is a "throwback" from when candles were used only for lighting!
The Catholic Mass uses candles as part of the "tradition", a reminder of when the Mass was performed in secret darkness; in the catacombs of Rome.
Many Pagans would use one or more candles as an aid to meditation. Many believe they have a magical significance; but they probably do not! They are just "tools" for aiding whatever the practitioner is trying to achieve; just as all the other "tools".
Candles may help in that way; but they are not really necessary.

I agree, candles are only tools that only have power or assist in completing something when you believe it will.

I really believe you can charge anything for a specific purpose if you know how to gather enough energy.

There is also the rise of "witchcraft shops" that will sell all sorts of "tools", including "coloured candles" and "carved candles".
But one must be aware that these shops exist as a business; to make money.
Be careful about "tools".

I use battery operated candles all the time. The closer they resemble the real thing, the better. My deceased mother, for whom I burn candles all the time, doesn't like them. She needs the warmth and feel of the real thing. But they can be used. Also, consider birthday candles and tea lights, that burn out quick. It still works. Blessed Be.

If you can't have candles and don't know where to find electric ones would it be possible to use a form of natural light (aka. the moon/sun)? I found this article very useful.
