Has anyone ever stared at the moon and noticed a strange rainbow colored light off the edge of it I know that the moons glow is its position from the sun but is this a different form of light

The rainbow is a reflextion of light from the sun. It is bigger with the clouds because of the vapor in them.

That refraction of light happens whenever any ray of light hits a prism, not just the sun's light.

The rainbow-effect around the moon is generally caused by refraction of moonlight by ice crystals in the upper atmosphere.
