Meditation Guidance needs

I can't meditate well, I am willing to try any suggestion to do it.. can you share your way of meditation? Pranayama (breath controlling) didn't help me (in fact it makes me suffocates), Patyahara (one pointness) made my head dizzy, and too relax condition always bring me to sleep.. I am hopeless trainee in meditation >.< If you have any suggestion please help me.

See, most people try to force a meditative state and that's not the way it is at all. You cannot brute force your way into it. Meditation is a wave, a river moving through your body harmonizing all parts of you.

When I meditate its a very simple process. 13 breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth. Focus you mind on the breaths. Make them slowly so you can feel how your lungs fill and deflate. Harmonize the body. Your heartbeat, your breath, your mind, all singing a song to the Divine.

I always find myself in the corridors of my mind once I finish that. If I want to explore the world outside my mind, I simply find the door that leads to the outside world. Stepping through the door allows me to AP.

I just realized that probably none of this helps, but I will post it just in case it does.

Well I will try it. I am really appreciate your suggestion. I never pushed it but meditation in daily basis is important for me now since I have a stressful days ahead :D

You can try to listen to music as well. Sound is a path to gnosis or magick. Shamanic traditions use it and so do many other traditions of witchcraft. Just lose yourself in the music and see what happens and what you feel.

I think it depends on the purpose for the meditation. I have a few methods depending on the goal.

If I'm looking to do some quiet, introspection, then I use methods similar to that of pranayama, but not as structured. I breathe at whatever rate is comfortable and blank my mind from everything except that breathing. If a distraction comes into my head, I draw a mental circle around it and push it out. Overtime, the breathing slows and you are able to think nothing for several minutes. Then, I start to allow thoughts inside and pay attention to those.

If I'm doing spellcraft or attempting an actual journey through meditation, I usually chant. It takes about 7-10 repetitions of a chant before you really begin to sink into it, but I'll often chant for several minutes continuously, up to a half hour. When doing this, I either keep my eyes closed and let images come into my head naturally, or I use a candle flame to focus my gaze and watch for images there. I find this effective for things like discovering animal guides, elemental meditations, or working with Deity.

The third way I meditate is through physical exercise, specifically Ashtanga yoga. I particularly love balance postures, and will allow my thoughts to cease and just exist among the energy of the exercise and the motion of my breaths. When using exercise to meditate, I typically find that the best results come at the end of the regimen, after about 1.5-2 hours of straight physical work. Then, lying in the dark, I can receive the messages that become available.

Whatever methods you use, meditation is a discipline and it takes a lot of self control and commitment. I am not very good at it at all, but my progress is measurable from where I used to be several years ago. It's not something that you can be immediately skilled at, and it can be a frustrating practice to learn. Perseverance really is key.

Find music that really gets you going. The music can build the energy within you or it could put you to sleep and balence and center you. Try some things that work and work with it. Pay attention to how you feel and what goes through your mind while you listen. Start out with some centering exercises to get you ready.
