Stress relief?
By:
Now that I'm back in school, the stress is really throwing off my meditations. Normally, I would just wait until late night when things are calmer, or take a hot bath instead of a shower, but that just isn't possible right now. Are there any quick ways to let go of stress? (oh, and my moms really stingy with her candles, so nothing involving incense or candles, please.)

You could always try tea. Chamomile tea is well known for its soothing and calming effects.

There are tons of things you can do. It doesn't have to be all magical by the way. Great stress relievers are:

  • *Playing video games
  • *Watching TV
  • Sleeping
  • Eating
  • Art
  • Excersize
  • Any hobbies you have

* = That this activity will put you in the same state of mind as deep meditation; the theta state.

Grounding the stress out often helps me. Do a grounding exercise before meditation

i can relate, looking for a job is stressing me out in a bad way. try and meditate either once you wake up or right before you go to bed, stick to a meditation routine. exercise is another great one. when i was in school, i woke up, meditated, then did 10-15 minutes of yoga or tai chi. something to stretch and center yourself before or after a hard day will help. as you start to calm, try adding to it, like more time, or harder work outs. tea's with lavender or chamomile will also help. if you can put an hour aside to do the things you love you will cut down on the stress.

another thing you can do is a hot bath with some lavender bath salts, soak in it and breath deeply, it will cleanse and relax you.
