When might be the proper time to tell my family I've started studying/practicing magick? My sisters sort of know and are okay with it, but I'm worried about what my parents might think. I don't want them to think something weird, but I'm finding it might be hard to do some spells without their knowledge.

Whenever you feel comfortable. My family personally doesn't understand that I practise psychic abilities, energy work, ect, However, they would freak out if I told them I practise witchcraft or magick. I don't practise magick, but I do believe it. Anyways, whenever your intuition tells you to.

Try to go for your gut feeling on what they'd take it as. I told my family once and they exploded in a flurry of speeches and put-downs, and later on they forgot about the whole thing and i never told them again I did magick and practiced it. My advice, stick it out till u can move out of the house, or go all or nothing and tell them about your new religious views on life and hope they'd understand.

I have started the religious aspects of Wicca as well, though because of the family issue, I have yet to actually celebrate anything with a ritual. I did try a ritual bath, with salt and a few rose petals. But then my sisters tried to "help" by putting like a whole rose's worth in there...tough cleanup. And then, my mom walked in on us...she was worried about the mess and assumes I was planning to throw them away later.

I can totally sympathize with you.Me as a teenager, might need some ingredients from online shopping, but my dad might like freak out and have epi or sth.(hopefully not).So I just stick with what I have at home.

I can see where that would be hard...like if you really needed a spell for something, but you don't have all the materials (or you need to do something that involves going outside at night and spreading flower petals or something. I'm not able to do candle magick, either, because of the concerns about the house burning down.
