Herbs for sickness

my sister has an infection and has been throwing up and has stomach pains, we've been to the doctor and he says it'll be over in 5 days, just drink fluids. it's apparently been going around, and a couple family members have gotten it, so i was wondering if anyone knows of some herbs i could use to help with her nausea and stomach pain. i know about ginger, i was thinking of a little bit of St. Johns Wart. any one have any suggestions?

Chamomile tea helps. It will not only ease the nausea, but it relieves inflammation within the stomach lining and stops the contractions which cause vomiting and pain. I would suggest using the root if you can because it is stronger for pain relief. If you cant get the root, the flowers will work but I would make each cup with two bags or allow it to steep longer.

My mom would use fresh peppermint tea with chamomile, and sugar to sweeten it, The tea works well to settle the stomach and ease the nausea.

I would suggest chamomile tea with a hint of honey. The honey usually helps with a sore throat but I think it would help smooth it down since I'm assuming the tea will be really hot.
