An Unsettling Time

I don't know what it is. Every single time I meditate I always have some sort of uneasiness about something I cant explain. It could be subconscious personal issues I'm not aware of, or it can be something beyond me. I just need to know if anyone here has meditated and felt the same way I have.

To Clarify: I've been having an unsettling feeling every time I meditate. Like a sort of unbalance in the energy around me. This normally pertains to the Earth being that I use the Earth to ground myself before and during meditation.

But like I said, It could just be subconscious problems trying to reach out through my meditative state. The only way I could know for sure is if any of you guys/girls have had the same feeling.

I used to have an urge to open my eyes and look around me every minute. My advice is to simply meditate as often as you can and perhaps get past it.

let me suggest to you a type of meditation that most dont do at all, its good to ground your self and meditate with music even going into trance states of meditation, but this is not a true meditation to understanding ourselves.

meditations should be do on being aware of your body sensations to the thoughts that play out, when we meditate we should be trying to understand our own body and being aware of the mental states that play out, doing so will help you in the understanding of any emotional baggage that you be be holding on to weather it be past pains or even feelings that you have towards a person or emotions that are unbalanced, you need to carefully feel this in a meditation to understand yourself and release those feelings and thoughts.

in a metaphysical sense if i was to do a normal mediation and my mind was directed towards some pain in my lower back area it would indicate to me that am letting some form of abuse happen to me most case's of back pain are related to abuse now abuse can come in many forms weather it being friends abusing your friendship or a past abuse to a financial abuse, this abuse can cause back pains and unsettling feelings to arise, the way to deal with them is to face them with care and understanding given them attention when we focus on any part of the body that brings pain or unsettling moods and be aware of it giving it care just like the breath the in breath and the out breath we find it can dissolves leading us towards our deepest problems.

just a thought for you and you don't need to take that as something you can do but try to look into it and experience what am saying, i work with many people that find them selves being unsettled in meditation, i work with Buddhist meditations and find they are the best in dealing with our body's so that we can become aware of any mental states that cause use these unsettling moods, many find peace after a few weeks work on this perhaps you can find some new ways there..

just mail me if you need any info..

Thank you very much for the information :) I shall mail you if ever I want more on it! But right now I'm going to try to settle most of my exterior conflicts before heading more inward.

I don't think you should divide the two - "chosing to settle your exterior conflicts before moving more inward." Our conflifts and upsets are not that compartmentalized - i believe you will then never get to the "right" place where it is "appropriate" to then shift inward.

Your body is your greatest teacher. It makes no mistakes. It is giving you some lesson and you will only harvest from it if you stick with it.

Life is full of unpleasantness and unease. It is the other half of the circle. Just because it doesn't feel all warm and fuzzy does not mean that you're doing something wrong. Perhaps you have never been more right?

i would have to agree with Ldygry, we must sort our own mess out first inside, its true that the body is the greatest teacher and will help you better than anybody else can, you must listen and be aware as i say just because the body is in pain or sickness doesnt really mean a negative thing its more of the body calling out trying to get your attention in some way,the body parts are connected to every thing if i have a bad kidney than it would indicate that am stressed we dont always no what emotions we are going through and need to pay close attention to the pains and ills of the body and looking at them with its metaphysical meanings.

an unbalanced state of meditation can be a form of frustration in the mind one needs to be aware of those frustrations were they are coming from etc, its true to try and sort them on the outside but one needs to look within first having awareness and treating that problem with care and compassion and than trying to resolve any outer issues for we can not put our selves above the world of matter a true spiritual person will respect both inner and outer issues, by listening to the body we can solve the greatest problems without ever having to take a pill or see any doctor.

blessed be and good luck.
