Eyes

A friend of mine said that when I use magic my eyes take on a purple tint. Is this normal?

Whatever tint they are seeing has nothing to do with doing magic. The colors around you can make your eyes look a different color. The lighting in the room can also effect the shade of your eyes. Some, like myself, believe that the chemical makeup of our body is even shown in our eyes. However that is something that happens over time and would either show as specks in the iris or a muddy or white fog in the iris.

It happens wherever I am when I use magic. My eyes are normally brown.

Perhaps your friend needs to be tested for color blindness. Your eyes will not change color simply for doing magic.

A few friends have mentioned it

Here is something to ask yourself though, have other people noticed it after someone mentioned it, or did they all notice it separately?

Do you know 100% that it wasn't a shift in the lighting in the room etc?

Magick does not change your vision, anything you have experienced is much more likely to be something inside your eyes or something mundane happening in the external world.

They noticed it at different times in different locations.

As all of the others have said, magic does not make your eyes change color no matter what your friends say about it. They are either mistaken or they are telling you false tales.
