Hello guys, so I yesterday something amazing happened to me. I've been observing birds outside my window for months now.I just feel something i can't explain about them. And yesterday 3 birds started flying really close to my window so i continued watching my movie and i thought it's no big deal even tho it's the first time in months they act like this. And than they started hitting my window and not once or twice it kept happening multiple times. So i get up and go on the window and i see my friend and a couple of other people i know down on the road ( I live high in a apartment building) and my friend was acting inappropriately and doing something i really don't like. I won't get into that topic since it's not important. This was a very weird/powerful experience to me. Now i'm not a beginner to magic but it's the first time i have an experience with animals. Can somebody maybe more experienced tell me more about this topic.
Could be a spirit animal or familiar (I mean in the spirit sense, not the physical sense), but it could also be nothing. You could also take a divinatory approach, ornithomancy. This again could lead to a spiritual cause (ie: some spirit sending the message through the birds) or again, nothing more than you projecting that unto a normal occurrence. If you are interested in exploring this idea, look into ornithomancy. Develop a practice of it.
This is mating season for birds in the Northern Hemisphere. Most likely what you were seeing were two male birds competing for the lone female. The males can get very distracted when they are driving off a rival and will frequently fly into windows or buildings.
Honestly, I don't. It's not something I really practice. But, one could find information in books (peer reviewed would be best) on Greek and Roman divination. The Greeks looked at the flights and cries from birds for signs, and the Romans performed this under the state religion's Augury. One could also read up on some ornithology. Also, start actually bird watching.
A look at Greek divination as a whole can be found in Ancient Greek Divination by Sarah Iles Johnston. It's a good read.
Other than that, perhaps someone knows a more closer to home method for this type of divination?
