You may use whatever you like. Perhaps keep this as your spellbook, then later transfer what is written to another, perhaps nicer book but in more of a final draft form without the inevitable crossed out words and lines and misspellings.

I use a spirial notebook for my BOS and nothing bad has ever happened to me. Just put your own personal energy into it and make it your own. Thats the key.

of course you can =)
You might like a three ring binder, then you can move the pages around how you like

I use Microsoft word for mine. Mostly because the computer and files are both password protected, which means no one can find it and throw it away. Plus I can put color and nice fonts in it, and spell check is great. :)

I personally prefer the three ring binder and loose leaf paper method. I can divide my spellbook/bos into sections, add and remove things, and move sections around as needed. Also, you can personalize the front and back of the binder if you'd like :) that tends to give it more of your energy. In addition, when you write things out by hand you tend to remember the material better. Just a thought :)

As Arienna stated- is also what I use- have found that those that are of utmost importance- I will put in plastic covers. There is nothing wrong with making your own spellbook. I have seen ones as high as $425 online... and I love mine. It is my personality, my energy thus my power infused within the pages
