My friend and I live in a small town and we made a wrong turn and came up to this stonehenge type area that had about twenty cloaked figures standing in a circle possibly doing a ritual but I cant be sure and one turned and his face elongated briefly and his eyes were black and the rest turned to us stretching out their arm chanting something. It was around midnight and a full moon. I am trying to find out who they could have been, it doesnt seem like anything I have ever encountered before. Any ideas on who they could have been.
Did you understand a word of what they were saying? They were probably just talking amongst themselves and didn't want to be disturbed. If you really are serious about what you claim you saw, I would recommend that you and your friend cast protection spells and wards around yourselves and clear away any negative energy you may have caught on. Better safe than sorry.
Sounds like a group of people, for example maybe druids, performing a ritual ceremony. It is not unheard of that people wear masks or paint their faces during such rituals. I truly doubt you have anything to worry about. They probably wanted you to go away so that they could continue in privacy.
I agree with Zebrah, it was probably just some Druids (who were probably the people who built THE Stonehenge) performing a ritual and didn't want to be disturbed. The guys eyes probably looked black because his pupils were large, either do to the ritual or absence of light. And his face elongating was, though I could be wrong, a trick of the light.
Note: I have had strange encounters like this before, though not with people like this.
Perhaps druids, as Zeb suggested, they could have been a coven of witches, or grove of wiccans, and so on. However I don't think it really matters who they were unless you have some issue with them, or you plan on joining their middle of nowhere midnight gathering ;)
