I cannot be certain but I believe it is an "avert evil eye" amulet. They are supposed to be blessed and charged for protection. The main use is to protect the wearer from negative energy, curses and bad magic.

Hope that helps :)

You're kidding right? Look at back of the US dollar bill! Look familiar? It is a symbol used by the freemasons, but it is older than that. It is called the "eye of providence". It is also called the "all seeing eye" and originated from the "eye of Horus" (Egyptian), hence the pyramid the eye sits inside.

Look up anything I put in " " and you'll find information on it.

WhiteRav3n, no need to be rude. There are plenty of people who don't know where something is from and I'm willing to bet that you've been through that before as well.

I'd look into the context that this amulet was made in for further details.

I wasn't trying to be rude. I was truly suprised. I've known about the symbol on the back of the dollar bill since I was in gradeschool. It was taught to me in school. If I was being mean, I wouldn't have explained it and given Demeter key phrases to look up.

The rude part was assuming everyone had that same level of exposure to the symbol as you had and then scoffing at them for it. I get that you might have had good intent, but it still wasn't the best way to go about it.
