i dont think that there should be a way for people to just post spells without at least having some kind of filter... thats why we have all the fluff that we have on here; because any newbie can just make a rhyme and post it, claiming it will make you time travel or shoot fire balls... just my opinion on it.

The rating feature helps with this. If you find a junk spell, give it a one-star rating. If you find a decent spell, rate it higher.

the rating system helps but when inexperienced people write the ratings then this happens: 4 star rating:

couldnt you have a mod or experienced member in charge of approving the spells submitted by spell casters coven before they are put on the website?

Maybe, but there will have to be more than one peron, since there is so many spells on this site. And some spells will probably need to be tested because some can be believable and it can also be possible for someone to make a mistake and never know it. Another thing is that if we had people or anything else determining if some spells are real or not, it might take a while for a spell to be released for all of us to see.

I don't think they need a "filter", really, or any sort of approval. From my understanding the entire purpose of the Spellcasters coven was the lack of regulation, allowing all members to participate fully regardless of how unqualified or, unfortunately, "fluffy" they are.
What I think would be more helpful is to have a system for removing obviously fake spells. I know there's editors an publishers and whatnot- maybe they can elect for spells to be removed, and either Pet himself or the mods or some sort of committee set up for this purpose can make the final call to remove them. I know it's probably more complex than that, especially if you consider Spellcasters a "real" coven (I don't, I personally view it as a means people use to post spells rather than a legitimate magical family, but then again I'm not one of them, so I can't really judge).

actually i agree with sparrow, surely if you had some of the mods and experianced members like returner or stoney or zebrah or others edit it then we would have a clean site and as for testing them, most of the fluffy spells dont need testing.. their obviously fluffy to someone with years of expeiriance its the newbies that cant tell.. and it is just clutter looking for good things
