Divination With I-Ching
By:

Has anybody other than myself ever used the Chinese divination of special coins called the I-Ching ( EE -ching)? In all my times on this site, nobody ever discusses it nor seems to know about it, even when discussions in chat arise about various divinations...

So, finally, does anybody else know about the Chinese divination called the I-Ching ?

I know that there is a book you can buy about the I-ching. I found a copy at my local used book store in the occult/philosophy section.

Yeaa, I've seen various books on the I-Ching in the book store and library, and I have a book that has the full 64 Hexagram meanings.

The I-Cing was the first form of divination I ever used. It was given to me by an old friend. I love it because it makes for a very insightful read, apart from using it as a divination method :)

Ditto with Zebra, besides it being my first. It was my second. Cartomancy was my first, but I always watched my mother use it since I was a young child and played with her coins. I don't turn to it often anymore, and almost completely forgot about it because I lost my book and coins many years ago. I think I may go get some in China Town the next time I pass through.

I recommend The Book of Changes. It's the best one out there on the I-Ching in my opinion.

I always wanted to try the yarrow stalks. Zebra have you used them? Those I've spoken to who have, prefer the coins.

Yes, I agree, Zeb. :)

And WhiteRav3n, Cartomancy was my second, where as Numerology was my first ever divination. And I'd always wanted to use the Yarrow sticks method for divination, but I don't remember why I never did do it... I'd love to know somebody who has used them before.

Terrahurts, you can either purchase them from any Chinese-oriented store, or at least I believe so, OR you could just take 3 normal US coins that feel special to you (like I've done) and use those as I-Ching coins. :)
