Look up the Monroe technique.

Basically in short, envision a rope hanging down from where you are attempting the projection, and imagine your astral hands pulling on this rope. Visualize your astral body coming out of your physical body. Eventually you shall be free. There are other methods, but this seems to be the easiest.

Tell me how it works out for you, I am also attempting AP, but not yet have gotten out of my body.

Keep trying. Astral Projection just doesn't happen the first time you try, it takes practice. I don't know for my own account, but the Monroe technique does work, and is proven so.
